Tour Itinerary

From the meeting point in the courtyard, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the glass building and the remarkable museum. Walk straight through a priority line to the security check, bypassing the queues to enter the world’s most renowned and visited museum.

Once inside, your guide will provide insight into the history of the Louvre, from its origins as a royal palace for King Charles V and Philippe II to its transformation into a museum. As the guide leads you through the corridors, you’ll explore vast collections organized by themes, including Oriental, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Etruscan Antiquities, as well as Islamic art, paintings, sculptures, and more.

The guide will highlight the most important masterpieces and hidden gems, starting with the famous sculptures on the lower ground floor, such as the Venus de Milo, Seated Scribe, and Winged Victory of Samothrace. You’ll learn about Egyptian antiquities, artworks by Michelangelo, and Greek, Roman, and Etruscan treasures, including the ornate salons from the Second Empire, the last time the Louvre was a royal residence.

Moving to the ground floor, you'll admire more Greek and Egyptian masterpieces while the guide reveals the stories behind these artworks. On the first floor, the busiest in the Louvre, you'll encounter the French Crown Jewels, silverware, and semi-precious gems from the early Middle Ages to the 19th century. The tour's highlight will be the paintings department, where you'll see Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, with the guide providing anecdotes about this enigmatic masterpiece. You'll also explore iconic works like Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix and The Wedding at Cana by Paolo Veronese.

Your two-hour tour concludes at the paintings department, but before it ends, the guide will captivate you with the details of these masterpieces, and you'll have the option to stay in the museum until closing time.
